This handcrafted ceramic platter features a beautiful pebble glaze painting, inspired by an encaustic artwork I did years ago that hangs in my studio.

Each platter is a one-of-a-kind collector’s item, and a unique piece of functional art.

Among other things, this can be used as a conversation starting serving platter, a beautiful cheese plate, the perfect jewelry display, or a stunning centerpiece with candles and flowers.

Process: Each platter is handcrafted by rolling the clay into a slab, cutting and forming the shape. They are then left to dry very slowly so they don’t crack or warp as they shrink. The platters are then smoothed and given the finishing touches, fired in the kiln overnight, sanded, washed, glazed, and high fired again at 2200F degrees. Each kiln firing takes about 24 hours to fire and cool. Then, after one more sand and wash to smooth it’s undersides it’s ready to find a new home with you!
