This beautiful organically shaped ceramic hummingbird plate was decorated with a unique combination of artist made luster glazes, and put through a complex firing process to achieve this rare in-glaze luster finish. During the firing the metallic components of the glaze are drawn to the surface, forming a thin layer. The subtle and nuanced nature of this technique, with so many factors playing into the result, renders the piece completely one of a kind and not repeatable.

The colorful, iridescent glaze finishes are reminiscent of hummingbird wings, with their blurred, yet elegant movement. The surface creates a feeling of enchantment and is perfectly suited for holding jewels, trinkets, special keepsakes, or to display on a stand.
