Hand built from stoneware clay, this vase is a one-of-a-kind artwork, finished with a creative application of my personally formulated luster glazes, and fired through a specially developed multi-stage process. During the gas reduction, an alchemical transformation occurs: the metals in the glaze shift and transmute, creating surfaces alive with iridescence and shimmering tones of gold, copper, and rainbow sheen. These layered, multi-glaze finishes are impossible to replicate exactly, as the nuances of application and firing ensure each piece is truly unique.

This piece has a moon like opal shine - so much subtle variation in the glaze work, and a beautiful interplay with the texture of the form and clay.

It is both functional and sculptural - a vessel for flowers, branches, or grasses, and equally striking as a stand-alone art object. Its surface shimmers differently in every light, offering an ongoing sense of enchantment and sensory discovery.
